  23. After reading David Brenner’s short story, “Fish Eyes” I was asked the question how were the words and actions affected by others? My response to this was in his story. His brother affected David’s, He affected his own actions, and he affected his parents actions. Because his brother would cause him to retaliate and ‘strike back’ as he said.. This would mean something as as nice as to return the favor by reversing the prank on the pranker. David affected his own actions by accidentally leaving the fish eyes in the dresser causing him to run in fear due to the fact that he may have to eat the eyes. Lastly he affected the actions of his parents by making the whole house reek of the wretched odor of semi moldy decaying fish eyes, and making them glare at him as if they knew it was him and were going to force him to eat it.
